Overview
AO 101 – Introduction to Te Ao Māori helps you understand how incorporating te ao Māori (the Māori worldview) into your asset management practices contributes to a more sustainable and equitable future for all New Zealanders.
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Understand the rich history of Māori in Aotearoa prior to Te Tiriti o Waitangi (The Treaty of Waitangi)
- Explain how the Articles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (The Treaty of Waitangi) relate to infrastructure asset management
- Understand the events after the signing of the Treaty that led to the Waitangi Tribunal and our bicultural constitutional identity
- Describe the ways in which te ao Māori is intertwined with the practice of asset management in Aotearoa New Zealand.
