WM 240 provides more detail and discussion on inspection and performance, with respect to flood risk asset management.

    The course includes:

    1. The importance inspecting assets, how often they should be inspected, and what data should be collected
    2. How to plan, design and develop an asset inspection methodology, including conducting and reporting an inspection
    3. The objectives of undertaking condition assessments, and its relationship with asset performance
    4. Performance assessment principles and methods
    5. How to inspect the various flood protection asset types, their specific failure modes and associated performance features.

On completion, learners are awarded a digital badge which can be saved and shared.

This course is a collaboration between Āpōpō and Asset BowManagement Ltd.

    Outcomes

This course will give you a deeper understanding of inspection and performance, with respect to flood risk asset management.

This course took a deeper dive into flood asset type, design, and construction ahead of exploring typical failure modes. Stepping through these topics really helped when looking at how and why we inspect assets and monitor performance. Beyond flood specific assets, this course helps frame up wider asset management, and would be relevant to those working who consider assets within wider risk management work (e.g. climate change assessments). Like WM104, George’s videos help engage and motivate you through the self-study course.Alex Cartwright - Climate and Flood Risk Consultant, Tonkin + Taylor.
