More accolades for the ground-breaking Asset Management for Social Housing Manual

The Asset Management for Social Housing Manual last week scooped the Best Public Works Project under $2.0m award at the 2024 International Public Works Conference (IPWC) held in Melbourne.  The category had finalist entries from across Australia and New Zealand, and the project team were represented at the Awards by RMIT Senior Lecturer Andrea Sharam – seen below with Āpōpō past President Priyani de Silva-Currie.

The Asset Management for Social Housing Manual is a unique trans-Tasman collaboration between Āpōpō, SPM Assets, RMIT and the Australasian Housing Institute (AHI).  Together the project team developed a relevant and accessible asset online guide derived from the NAMS Property Manual which incorporates consideration of cultural needs alongside technical asset management best practices for social housing assets.  The manual development project won the Asset Management category of the Āpōpō 2023 Asset Management Excellence Awards, qualifying for entry into the IPWC Awards.

The award-winning manual is hosted online by Āpōpō and promoted by AHI to community housing providers in both Australia and New Zealand.  Find out more here.

Well done to the whole Asset Management for Social Housing team!
