Āpōpō recently hosted a special webinar celebrating Matariki – and living Te Ao Māori principles.
Matariki marks the Māori New Year – offering an opportunity to reflect, acknowledge, and plan with purpose for the future. This year we reflected on how te ao Māori values align with asset management practice, and how they have shaped our Āpōpō journey.
This Matariki 2025 celebration webinar was hosted by Tracy Massam, Hamilton City Council.
This session explored the relevance of te ao Māori values in asset management, how Āpōpō integrates them into our work, and how they can be applied in practice. Several studies were presented, one from Nelson and one from the Waikato, exploring the principles in practice.
