IPWEA NZ digital badges are already proving their value and delivering on their objectives of upskilling asset managers, this time with our neighbours in the Pacific.

On September 8th, 35 asset managers from government agencies, government corporations, and the private sector in Fiji, received certificates at a ceremony to acknowledge their successful completion of IPWEA NZ’s four foundation asset management digital badges.

The United States Ambassador Joseph Cella told the graduates, “With the tools and skills that you have acquired from your training, you are now better equipped to manage the risks and protect essential infrastructure on which Fijians heavily rely.”

The training was funded through the USAID Ready project, designed to strengthen climate change and disaster resilience of Pacific island countries. USAID Ready works with 11 target countries – Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu – to achieve their climate change adaptation goals by assisting them to develop policies and legislation, access climate finance, and build capacity to manage adaptation projects.

IPWEA NZ looks forward to supporting the continued advancement of asset management practice in Pacific Island Nations.
