Āpōpō is proud to announce that AM 309 – Procurement and Supply Chain, our first digital badge to be delivered with an AI powered conversational learning component is now available. This marks an exciting step forward in how we deliver reflective, applied, and accessible learning for asset management professionals across Aotearoa.
A Badge Built with Expertise – and Enhanced with AI
The content for AM 309 has been developed by Āpōpō Product Manager Mike Curry, working closely with sector subject matter experts, following the same process used across our award-winning badge suite.
While the learning material itself is not AI generated, the delivery is newly enhanced through a purpose built chatbot, trained on best practice asset management guidance, including the Āpōpō Guide and the badge content itself.
How the AI Component Works
As part of this course, learners can choose to engage with an AI powered chatbot designed to support reflective and conversational learning. Using the chatbot is optional, but we strongly encourage you to try it – most learners get more out of the badge when they use it.
The chatbot:
- asks questions about what you already know,
- responds to your ideas,
- and helps you connect key concepts to your own workplace and experience.
It “learns from what you say” and builds on your responses to guide your understanding.
This means AM 309 can now meet learners where they are in their journey – offering a more personalised, responsive style of support.
This AI component has been designed and tested in line with the Āpōpō Responsible AI Policy and is part of a Master of Professional Practice research project currently underway. The badge was tested by volunteer learners late last year, with encouraging feedback from participants.
