One of the benefits of being part of the Āpōpō community is access to practical, internationally aligned resources tailored for Aotearoa New Zealand. Over the past few months, our Product Developer, Mike Curry, has been updating our resources to ensure they include recent, locally relevant examples of asset management in practice.

The Āpōpō Guide now features 29 case studies, each demonstrating how organisations are applying asset management principles in ways that deliver measurable outcomes, embed Māori perspectives, and support sustainable growth.

Why These Updates Matter

  • Local relevance: Every case study reflects New Zealand’s unique infrastructure, cultural context, and regulatory environment.

  • Practical learning: They provide tangible examples of how asset management principles are applied on the ground, not just in theory.

  • Sector advancement: Sharing award-winning projects inspires others, encourages innovation, and strengthens best practice across the sector.

  • Capability building: The updates support professional development by connecting practitioners with real-world examples that demonstrate leadership, governance, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
