At IPWEA NZ’s 34th Annual General Meeting on 24 September 2021, Andrew Brickell was awarded Honorary Life Membership of IPWEA NZ, in recognition of his particularly outstanding and distinguished service to IPWEA NZ and its predecessors and to public asset engineering and management.

Since 2008, Andrew has been one of IPWEA NZ’s principle course trainers, and has been responsible for delivering face to face training to 2,226 individuals who have attended 229 days of his IPWEA NZ and Ingenium’s NZS 3910, Engineer to the Contract, Engineer’s Representative and other related courses.

Andrew is a consulting civil engineer and runs Enmore Consulting Ltd. In tandem to a gradual withdrawal from consulting he has, over the last 14 years created a valuable reputation for IPWEA NZ being at the forefront of public asset engineering and management professional development. His course attendees seek out Andrew because of his personal reputation – and the fact that he probably taught their boss the intricacies of the topics, and that boss has specified Andrew as the authority to learn from. Andrew will retire from delivering courses in December this year.

Andrew has over 50 years of experience in the construction industry, has worked on projects in 20 countries and is an experienced construction arbitrator. He represented ACENZ and Engineering NZ on the revision committee that produced NZS 3910, 3916 and 3917 and has also participated in FIDIC contracts task committees. He is a Fellow of Engineering NZ and has been a member of many other engineering organisations internationally, including ICE, IPWEA, the Project Management Institute and the Arbitrators and Mediators Institute of NZ.
